Electronic feeders jam, lose their schedule in a power cut, and occasionally dispense nothing while you’re away. A gravity feeder has no failure mode: as the bowl empties, more food falls in. That’s the whole mechanism.
Three gallons is genuinely a lot — enough for a weekend away, or to stop the 5 a.m. wake-up because the bowl ran dry overnight.
A gravity feeder cannot portion. It feeds free-choice.
If your pet self-regulates, this is excellent. If your pet eats whatever is in front of it — which is most Labradors, most Beagles, and a great many cats — free-choice feeding leads to weight gain, and obesity is the most common preventable health problem in pets. Buy this for a pet that grazes, not for a pet that inhales. If yours inhales, you want a portioned electronic feeder or a slow-feeder bowl instead.

Questions people actually ask
Can I leave my pet for a week with this?
No. Never leave a pet unattended for days on any feeder. Food can bridge and stop flowing, water can be knocked over, and animals get ill. A long weekend with someone checking in daily is the sensible ceiling.
Does the food get stuck?
Large or irregularly shaped kibble can bridge across the opening. Test with your own food for a few days before relying on it, and give the hopper a tap when you pass.
How do I clean it?
Empty and wash it monthly, and dry it completely before refilling. Kibble oils build up and go rancid, which is why pets sometimes go off food from a feeder that has never been washed.
Will my dog tip it over?
Full, it’s heavy and stable. Nearly empty it can be nosed over by a determined dog — put it against a wall.
Can I use one for water?
Yes, that’s why two are included. Change the water daily rather than topping it up — a reservoir that never empties grows biofilm.

Returns. You can return an unused item in its original packaging within 30 days for a full refund. Message us first and we will issue a return authorisation — there is no restocking fee. Items that have been assembled, used by a pet or washed cannot be returned for hygiene reasons, so please check the dimensions and weight limits before ordering.
If your item arrives damaged, incomplete or not as described, email us with a photo within 30 days and we will replace it or refund you in full. You will not be asked to ship a damaged item back at your own cost.
