Cooling mats fail most often because the pad is shorter than the pet’s resting stretch. If elbows hang off the edge, many dogs leave for the couch.
Measure first
- Wait until your dog is already lying down.
- Measure nose-to-hip along the resting line (or collar-to-base of tail if that is how they curl).
- Choose a mat at least that long. Wider is nicer for side-sleepers; length is the non-negotiable.
