Most foam dog beds have a washable cover and nothing underneath it. The first accident, the first wet dog, the first spilled water bowl soaks straight into the foam — and foam never really dries. That’s where the smell comes from, and it’s why so many big dog beds get thrown out within a year.
This one has a waterproof inner liner between the cover and the foam. The cover washes; the foam stays dry.

Questions people actually ask
Does the whole bed wash?
The cover unzips and machine washes cold. The foam does not go in a machine — which is exactly why the waterproof liner matters.
Is 3″ of foam enough for a big dog?
For most large dogs, yes — egg-crate profile spreads load rather than compressing flat. A very heavy dog with diagnosed arthritis is better served by thicker memory foam.
Will it fit a 42″ crate?
At 41×27″ it’s sized to drop into a 42-inch crate. Measure the internal floor of yours — crate sizing is quoted externally.
It smelled of foam on arrival.
New foam off-gasses. Unzip the cover and air it somewhere ventilated for 24–48 hours before use and it goes.
Care instructions vary by product — see the specifications in the description above for what applies to this item. As a general rule: wipe hard surfaces with a soft damp cloth and air dry, wash removable fabric covers cold and air dry rather than tumble drying, and store away from direct sunlight.

Returns. You can return an unused item in its original packaging within 30 days for a full refund. Message us first and we will issue a return authorisation — there is no restocking fee. Items that have been assembled, used by a pet or washed cannot be returned for hygiene reasons, so please check the dimensions and weight limits before ordering.
If your item arrives damaged, incomplete or not as described, email us with a photo within 30 days and we will replace it or refund you in full. You will not be asked to ship a damaged item back at your own cost.
