An indoor cat has the same hunting drive as an outdoor one, and nothing to point it at.
A cat in the wild makes something like ten hunting attempts a day. Indoors that number is zero, and the drive doesn’t go anywhere — it comes out as 3 a.m. sprints, ambushing your ankles, or overgrooming.
This ball moves on its own, changes direction when it hits something, and stops. Which means it behaves less like a toy and more like prey.
Two modes, and why the difference matters
A short burst that ends. Better for most cats: a hunt that finishes lets them settle, groom and sleep, which is the natural cycle.
Wakes when nudged. Good for a cat that plays in short visits through the day, less good for one that gets over-stimulated.

Don’t put all three out. Cats habituate to a self-moving toy within about a week — the movement stops reading as prey and starts reading as furniture. Keep one in use, two put away, and swap every few days. The same toy comes back interesting. Owners who leave all three on the floor usually report the cat lost interest by day ten, and that’s a rotation problem, not a product problem.
Questions people actually ask
Will it work on carpet?
Low pile, yes. Deep or shaggy carpet stalls the motor — it’s built for hard floors and rugs.
Is it loud?
You’ll hear it rolling on a hard floor. If your cat plays at night and you’re a light sleeper, shut it in one room or use Normal mode so it switches itself off.
My cat got bored after a week.
Almost always a rotation problem. Put it away for four or five days and bring it back out. Cats respond to novelty far more than to any particular toy.
Can it go under furniture and get stuck?
It can end up under a sofa. In Normal mode it shuts off after five minutes, so it won’t run flat under there.
Is it safe to leave with my cat unsupervised?
For most cats, yes. If yours is a determined chewer of plastic, supervise instead — any battery-containing toy should be kept away from a cat that cracks casings.

Returns. You can return an unused item in its original packaging within 30 days for a full refund. Message us first and we will issue a return authorisation — there is no restocking fee. Items that have been assembled, used by a pet or washed cannot be returned for hygiene reasons, so please check the dimensions and weight limits before ordering.
If your item arrives damaged, incomplete or not as described, email us with a photo within 30 days and we will replace it or refund you in full. You will not be asked to ship a damaged item back at your own cost.
